My work sits at the intersection of animal welfare, human wellbeing, and environmental stewardship. For more than two decades I have helped nonprofit organizations, universities, farms, healthcare professionals, and communities build programs and raise funds that improve lives while strengthening the human-animal bond.

Short biography

Suzanne M. Kapral

Suzanne M. Kapral is an Animal Welfare Scientist, speaker, and consultant who helps organizations harness the power of human-animal interaction, care farming, and One Health to improve the wellbeing of people, animals, and the land.

For more than two decades, Suzanne has partnered with nonprofit organizations, educational institutions, healthcare professionals, and agricultural leaders to develop innovative, evidence-informed programs that strengthen communities, advance animal welfare, and inspire meaningful change. She is recognized for translating scientific research into practical solutions through strategic planning, storytelling, fundraising, and collaborative partnerships.

Suzanne helped establish the nationally recognized Care Farming program at The Lands at Hillside Farms, providing farm-based trauma services for children since 2010. She serves as a Contract Auditor for A Greener World, is a member of the Massachusetts Green Care Advisory Board, and is Managing Editor of the Human-Animal Interaction Newsletter for the American Psychological Association.

A TEDxScranton speaker, published author, and frequent presenter, Suzanne holds master’s degrees in Animal Welfare & Behavior from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine and Organizational Management from Misericordia University. Her mission is simple: to help people, animals, and the land thrive together.
